The idea of hosting nfts on our tlds has been floating around for a while. Currently one of the most basic ways to do it is to hack dlinks to point to a skynet link but the data is only guaranteed to persist for 3 months.
A method to setup and point to a permanent store such as Arweave or also Footnote with its 1mb allocation could open up a lot of utility.

You can now easily set up a Handshake name to point to Arweave with https://argoapp.live/

Keeong Ng Great suggestion! I love that you referenced dLinks because we built that specifically to showcase how anyone can point their Handshake name to another storage blockchain.
Anyone can build their own Skynet gateway by taking a look at Sia's developer docs (https://siasky.net/docs/#introduction) and we'll be open sourcing how we built ours soon as well, and if you're willing to experiment with the Arweave or Footnote docs, what you're proposing should be totally possible without any configuration or intervention on our end.
To get started, I recommend sharing this as a Namer News post on http://news.namebase.io/ to get some feedback from other community members on how you might go about doing so.
